In these days of forced lockdown, Visioninmusica will entertain their fans by posting, every four days, a selection of the most significant artists
that represented the quality and originality of our musical season.
Il mondo in testa is the title of Gegé Telesforo’s new live project (and of his latest disc), which follows three albums in the last decade – So Cool (2010), Nu Joy (2012) and Fun Slow Ride (2016) – as well as Songbook (2018): a book of music (Map Editions) with the scores, lyrics and arrangements of 35 original compositions, written over 25 years.
Since the release of his first album Fantasia, with music by Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann (Deutsche Grammophon, 2014), Giuseppe Albanese has quickly become one of the most in-demand pianists of his generation.
Luna in Ariete (2019) is the fourth album of unpublished songs by Ilaria Pilar Patassini. Four years after the release of her last album – L’Amore è dove vivo (2015) – Pilar is back and shows her nature as a singer-songwriter, with songs that focus on a drier voice and a sound that is narrating, shadowy and naked.
What Matthias Bartolomey (cello) and Klemens Bittmann (violin and mandola) have in common is a passion to seek new sounds, and a deep respect for the sound of their instruments.
Pianist Michel Reis, bassist Marc Demuth and drummer Paul Wiltgen are three of Luxembourg’s most prominent jazz musicians. They formed the Reis-Demuth-Wiltgen Trio in 1998 while still in high school and performed on a regular basis in and around Luxembourg for a couple of years.
The stories of Alfredo Rodriguez and Pedrito Martinez may look similar: they were both born in Havana, a city that forged their musical talent before they moved to the USA.
