The Latin Mood is back after 4 years. The group is led by Fabrizio Bosso and Javier Girotto, with Natalio Mangalavite on the piano, Luca Bulgarelli on the the bass, Lorenzo Tucci on the drums and Bruno Marcozzi on percussions.
They will revisit the repertoire of their two albums (Sol and Vamos), adding new ideas and compositions. Excellent combo, great soloists. The solos of the saxophones and trumpet are overwhelming and the energy of the performance is incredible. As we go along, the scenarios multiply and milonga, tango, chacarera and candombe find their way in. The ensemble was put together during an edition of the “Brianza Open Jazz Festival” by the two leaders, the Italian Fabrizio Bosso from Turin, and Javier Girotto, Argentinian but Italian by adoption. Different aesthetic dimensions meet in the fertile land of improvisation: the hard bop of Fabrizio Bosso, and the Latin atmospheres and the South American rhythms of Javier Girotto.
Each of them has always been interested and has much in common with the artistic expression of the other, and they have succeeded in expressing a complete synthesis that blends different soundscapes. The collaboration first took shape with a debut album produced by Blue Note Italy, entitled Sol (featuring the great Raul Midòn).
The music is so involving and sometimes even danceable that it’s easy to fall in love with. The Original pieces of music are by Javier Girotto, Natalio Mangalavite and Fabrizio Bosso. The sextet’s most recent album is called Vamos.
