Luna in Ariete (2019) is the fourth album of unpublished songs by Ilaria Pilar Patassini. Four years after the release of her last album – L’Amore è dove vivo (2015) – Pilar is back and shows her nature as a singer-songwriter, with songs that focus on a drier voice and a sound that is narrating, shadowy and naked. Her artistic path has always been intertwined with jazz, songwriting and poetry. Her lyricism is intimate and sharp, backed by acoustic arrangements characterized this time by the presence of three wind instruments (horn, flugelhorn and trombone) and based on texts that tell the dualism, suspension and double identity. In her work, Pilar also speaks of love, motherhood, Italy and current affairs. The album was recorded live in three sessions between December 2017 and March 2018, during her pregnancy. The artistic production is a collaboration with Federico Ferrandina, guitarist and arranger. Now Luna in Ariete is again a concert where the protagonist is singer and speaker, with a direction and a narrative path, staged with an agile scenography and video projections. The program includes all the tracks from the last album, framed by the most significant pieces of her previous works.

Pilar has collaborated with Bungaro, Pacifico, Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi, Sandro Luporini, Franco Piana, Joe Barbieri, Tony Canto, with the writer Fabio Stassi, with Gianluigi Trovesi, Jean-Louis Matinier and Tim Ries (Rolling Stones). In recent years she has been on tour in Italy and Canada, performing at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, at the Blue Note in Milan, at the Piccolo Regio and at the Salone del Libro in Turin, at the Teatro Politeama Garibaldi in Palermo, at the Bravo Caffè in Bologna, at the Chamberfest in Ottawa, at the Beaches International Jazz Festival in Toronto, at the International Jazz Festival in Vancouver, at the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival in Saskatoon, at the Centre Phi in Montreal.
